It’s never too late to hire a doula! It may be harder to find, but there are plenty of us. I met this family at 35 weeks, and we hit it off pretty quickly!
Things weren’t progressing as we had hoped, and pitocin was pretty high…so I broke out my magic trick…the side lying release. Baby turned, and water broke immediately.
She labored beautifully, and by the time she was asking for pain medication…she was nearly complete. She decided to keep going. She intuitively labored down standing with a knee on the bed, and when the provider came in, she stayed in that position until her sweet one met us on this side! Just 1 hr from her asking for pain meds, including 24 minutes of pushing.
