What is a doula vs a midwife?

The short answer is that midwives offer medical care to women throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. Doulas provide emotional, educational, and physical support to you and your family throughout pregnancy, delivery, and the early postpartum period. Doulas do not provide medical care.
